From Prayer to Purpose: The Colllectiv Story
I worked in the bridal industry, driving from Wellington to Cape Town, every day. I still remember the prayer I prayed and asking the Lord: “Lord, when I become a mom, can I please have a job closer to home because I really want to be a mom to my children”. Then Covid came, and in 2020 I lost my job and we just found out we are expecting. I went on my knees and stayed in prayer, and that is how Colllectiv came into existence. I didn’t just get a job closer to home, I have been entrusted with a business. This why our company’s name is spelled with 3 L’s, so that it may always be a reminder of WHO breathed life into prayer and business.

Anthea van Zyl | Founder
Anthea founded Colllectiv with a passion for refined interiors, thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship. She oversees the creative direction and client experience, ensuring every project reflects the brand’s premium yet approachable aesthetic. With a strong eye for detail and a hands-on approach, she is committed to bringing each client’s vision to life with care and precision.
Altus van Zyl | Co-Founder
Altus co-founded Colllectiv alongside his wife, Anthea, and plays a key role in the growth and operations of the business. While working full-time professionally, he remains heavily involved in project planning, installations and client support. His practical approach and commitment to quality help ensure every project is completed to the highest standard.
Rafiq Floris | Head Installer
Rafiq has been part of Colllectiv since 2000, beginning in manufacturing and working his way up to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory. As Head Installer at Colllectiv, he brings years of hands-on experience and industry knowledge to every project. He values the strong team culture at Colllectiv, where staff are treated like family rather than just employees.
Abdul Floris | Junior Installer
Keeping it in the family, Abdul started working alongside his father at Colllectiv three years ago. His great attention to detail and meticulous workmanship are his forte. No job is too big or too small, and he values every client he works with, always ensuring each project is completed to the highest standard.
